Shining SHINee.

So, SHINee's 2nd anniversary was yesterday and I wanted to post something to commemorate. Somehow, this became huge and I couldn't finish it up yesterday, hence why I'm posting late. It's somewhat a pimping post, idek how that happened.


Taemin invites you in.

For me, it all started when one day my dearest mariaheartsu showed me some of their MVs. Coincidentally, it was on the same day this came out:

Needless to say, I thought the lyrics were utterly ridiculous (~FANTASTIC, ELASTIC~), but the song was infectiously addictive, their clothes were actually fashionable (as opposed to Jpop, 'cause really /coughs This was before I had seen Juliette, though, so hm) and I really loved the dance routine. I remember I thought all of them were really handsome, Key was a fierce bitch, Onew didn't look like a bad boy at all, Taemin was really angelical in spite of trying to look ~mature, Jjong had the best hair I'd seen in a while, and Minho had a really deep voice.

I then had no idea what I'd gotten myself into.

I started watching cuts from shows and interviews and in a very short span of time I noticed they're basically the most lovable and adorbs people in Korea. I mean really, they're the first group since SID in which I love everyone equally except for my bias. That only happens to me in those two groups.

Let's run through them.

leader onew;

Do not be fooled by the adorableness, this is fail personified.

Onew is the oldest one in the group at the age of 20, thus taking the leader's role, in spite of being unable to walk a mile without tripping and/or bumping into something.


Literally.


This happens while they're performing too.

He's therefore known for his Onew Condition (or sangtae, in Korean), since he also often cracks really lame jokes. This also applies to the body gags he does and all the falling and tripping over things too.






I always crack up at his lame jokes, though. But then again, I'm pretty lame myself. |D

One may ask why such an uncoordinated person is in a group of this sort, but the truth is Onew has one of the sweetest voices you'll ever hear.

Onew is also actually really smart. He was ranked second in all of his school at the time, and he's very considerate of others. He's just all around a really sweet, selfless person who is always smiling with all his might. /I love him, stfu


So in spite of all the fail, Onew is just too amazing for life.

Also, he can imitate Donald Duck's voice.


And we all know how much that can come in handy.

bling bling jonghyun;(yes, really)

Meet the sexy one.

Jonghyun is 20 too (his birthday has already passed, whereas Onew is going to be 21 this year), and he's the lead singer of the group. He has a really powerful voice with a wide range, and he's also really interested in music.

Be prepared to be impressed.

Personality-wise, Jonghyun's really cheerful and passionate. He's always joking around with everyone, and he seems to be a bit stupid too, in an endearing way.






Like this stare he has sometimes, idek.

When he's on stage though, he's always focused on what he's doing and he gets his sexiness going like no other, singing so powerfully he looks like he's about to burst an artery. Also, he can't keep his tongue in his mouth.


Not that we complain.

He's also a crybaby, as seen by the bawling every time SHINee wins something.





But then again, he does have a reason to cry sometimes.


This will never not be funny to me, I swear. /sadist

In the end though, he's basically just a dork like everyone else.



Also, his hair is amazing.


I mean, really.

If you're not impressed by now, Jjong must judge you.

As I said, at first I didn't even have a bias in this group, but then I saw this:


And do I really have to say more?

Key is 18 and he's one of the rappers of SHINee, but just as his alias implies, he can basically do anything. He can sing, dance and rap, and still look fiercer than anyone in a 2-mile radius. He's also interested in fashion, furthermore proving the diva he is.






Just look at him go.

Key is a very honest and blunt person, and that earns the most hilarious expressions sometimes.


No wonder everyone macros him.


He scoffs a lot, too.

But in spite of the seemingly arrogant exterior, he's a very caring person. He's like the mother of the group, always fixing everyone's hair and grooming their clothes to perfection, all the while making sure everyone has eaten. His snarky remarks just show that he cares, really.


Notice how he pops up out of nowhere, too. It's magical.


This is his ~son~.


See, he's taught him well.


All in all, you just can't help but love him.

He's known for being able to memorize dance routines really easily, and he takes pride in knowing pretty much all of the girl groups' routines by heart. Just play the song and let the magic happen.

He's actually a really great dancer. He was the only one that was able to keep up with Taemin in a dancing game they had some time ago, before he got all hardcore!poppin!mode.

All the divaness aside, he's a very mature boy for his age. He has interesting ideas and views on everything, and his honesty always manages to come across. I find that great. ♥

I also want to mention this hilarious quirk he has - whenever he's laughing out loud, he can't help but slap someone. I SWEAR, just pay attention, he does that all the time.

tl;dr: Key > world.

flaming charisma minho;

Minho is also 18 and the other rapper of the group. He's reserved and very quiet, though he's been trying to talk more these past few months. He's known for being able to make an entire row of fangirls (and Jonghyun) lose the strength on their knees with his gaze alone.


Srs flame power is srs.

He's usually very polite and attentive, trying to lure you in with his winking.

When he's more comfortable and thus becomes more like himself in front of the camera, one can see he's actually pretty playful.



Some of Minho's most flagrant characteristics are his competitiveness and passion for sports. He takes everything as a challenge and always does his utmost to finish in first place.


And usually looks like this if he fails.

He's a very nice donsaeng, which is why he's called a hyung whore pretty often. He likes his men older.


Though one may argue the opposite.

Although he spends all of his time either dancing or rapping, Minho actually has a nice voice. SM is evil and doesn't let him sing much though, much to our dismay.

I know, we don't get it either.

maknae taemin;

No, you didn't die and go to heaven.

Taemin is the youngest in the group. He's 16 and thus illegal (meaning you cannot fap to that yet, sry2say). He's the main dancer - and a kickass one at that -, though lately he's begun to sing really well too, since the worst part of his voice changing period is over.

Since he's the baby of the group, everyone dotes on him to a certain extent, and that added to his looks result in this innocent image he can't seem to get rid of.


Like so.


Even the MCs coo him.

It seems to me that he's lately trying to prove he's growing up, either by being even fiercer at dancing, or by the more mature look he's been sporting. Even so, he is incontestably the best one at being cute.







He can, however, get his cool persona going sometimes too.


Though he actually looks as menacing as a lost puppy.

But do not be fooled by the cute looks. He's jailbait, and a pretty effective one at that.






Reminder: he's still 16.

All the aegyo aside, Taemin is the best one at dancing out of all of them, and he often gets the opportunity to shine by dancing solo.

Every time he dances, I get all *_____* /loves dancing

Oh and also, this boy can fly.


Better respect.

In spite of being pretty awesome by themselves, they certainly stand out even more as a group. I love, love, love seeing them interacting and playing around and basically being friends, it warms my heart like nothing else. They're all close since they've known each other since before they debuted; Jonghyun and Key have even been best friends since then too. They tease each other constantly, they hug pretty frequently and they have lots of chemistry when they're together. which is exactly why I ship everyone/everyone

They fix each others hair.


They twirl around.


They check each other out subtly.


They fling their arms around each other.


They hug.


They hug some more.


They give piggyback rides.


They make silly faces.


They're retarded together.


They're even more retarded together.


They plot against each other.


They grope each other on national television.


They tease each other.


They laugh together.




So they're basically a big, happy OT5 full of rainbows and happiness. ♥

To wrap up, you wanna know how much I love these guys?

That gif of Onew falling after he just woke up never fails to make me laugh. Even if I sit and watch it 20 times. XD

And I lol'd at the Jonghyun seeming to be "a bit stupid in an endearing way" comment. That describes him so perfectly. XD

I think Key deserves a spam post all of his own. Because he's just epic like that.

I think SM should give Minho singing parts now that he's improved quite a bit. And give Taemin harder stuff, because his voice is similar to Jonghyun's, which is awesome. I loved it when he sang Jonghyun's parts at performances when Jjong had the swine flu. Not that I loved Jjong being sick, but yeah. XD

LOL TAEMIN CAN FLY~ I love how I've only seen a solo fancam of his entrance and not any of the other members. I need one of Minho because he totally fell. And one of Key because it looked like he fell too, but he made it look like he meant to do it. XD

heyyyy I know this comment is like really late but I'm going through shinee pimp posts because of the lack of daily pictures of them lately (I got so used to new stuff coming in every day sob).

But anyway, love this post! Onew and Key are my biases as well although only by a bit. All five of them are just that lovable :3

I looked through the other comments and you were talking about the performance where Taemin is flying but Minho and Key fell....and I don't think I've ever seen it. Which performance is it? The comment thread made me curious /puppy dog eyes
